PLIC - Pure Plastic

A well know local plastic ware supplier wants to franchise his business, not an easy job due to the oversupply of "plastic warehouse shops" and buyers perceptions of these same shops. Salience strategised a complete new angle that no plastic supplier has tried in South Africa. We changed the name and purposeful omitted the word plastic, this will give the brand the flexibility to innovate through it's growth. The name was chosen as PLIC, a strong, short and easy to recall name that also gives the brand that much needed flexibility. The brand will go through a 6 month "change over" period whereby consumers will see the old name next the new one. We wanted to ensure that valued customers did not get confused and give them a time to adjust. The rebranding is in full swing and we have chosen to temporary brand the flagship store with the same "change over", the adverts and other marketing material only show a small section of the "change over" branding. Customer reception has been positive!
